The class action lawsuit alleges the law firm stored data on an unsecured database, allowing hackers to access personal details like Social Security numbers and payment information.
While Spear Wilderman denies wrongdoing, they agreed to the settlement, offering affected individuals compensation of up to $125 for time spent resolving issues related to the breach.
Larger payments of up to $1,500 are available for documented expenses linked to the data breach.
The deadline for claims is Nov. 27, 2023, with a final approval hearing scheduled for Dec. 20, 2023.
