Consumers who incurred medical costs while insured under a New West health insurance plan may be eligible for compensation from a recent class action lawsuit settlement. This class includes individuals who were insured by a New West Health Services insurance plan between January 2002 and January 2013 and incurred injuries and medical costs due to another person’s or company’s fault, such as car accidents, slips and falls, defective consumer products, or malpractice.
The plaintiff in the lawsuit claims she suffered serious injuries from a 2007 car accident, resulting in $120,000 in medical expenses. New West, her insurer, allegedly refused to cover these costs, stating that they were the responsibility of the at-fault party. New West Health Services, which was a Montana-based insurer, ceased operations in 2017.
