A third-party audit of NordVPN’s no-logs promises was just completed, the firm said Tuesday. NordVPN is one of the top VPNs according to CNET. Deloitte, one of the “Big Four” accounting companies, completed the audit between November 21 and December 10, 2022, and it was affirmed in its Independent Reasonable Assurance Report that NordVPN didn’t capture or keep any user activity logs throughout that period. In its privacy policy, NordVPN states:

“Nord guarantees a strict no-logs policy for NordVPN Services, meaning that your internet activity while using NordVPN Services is not monitored, recorded, logged, stored, or passed to any third party. We do not store used bandwidth, traffic logs, IP addresses, or browsing data.” [1]

If a VPN service doesn’t record or keep track of user activity records, it won’t be able to disclose any data should authorities ask for it. Although a VPN company’s no-logs claims may never be completely validated with 100% confidence, a third-party audit can provide a significant amount of comfort that the promises made by the VPN provider are true…
