Freedom Financial Network and Freedom Debt Relief have agreed to a $9.75 million settlement in a class action lawsuit over telemarketing calls violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). The lawsuit alleges that the companies made calls using artificial or pre-recorded voices to sell their products between May 17, 2017, and April 17, 2018. The class includes individuals receiving such calls, with additional set amounts for those on the National Do Not Call Registry.

Accused of TCPA violations, the companies allegedly contacted potential customers without prior permission, including those on the National Do Not Call Registry. Claimants, wondering if they qualify, can use the phone number look-up function on the settlement website. Specializing in debt relief and debt consolidation assistance, the companies face estimated payouts of $60 to $170 per valid claim, subject to the number of valid claims and inclusion of National Do Not Call Registry listings.
